He was showing it off proudly. Toby was curious, but more about the grass.
He turned in an Audi at the end of its lease and got this 4 cylinder turbo. He had a BMW previously, but crashed it driving too fast. So now he is back to BMW.
Of course, the post would not be complete without Sunchaser.

I’m glad he likes it, they are a good car.
The 3 Series, sorry, 3 and 4 Series are much of a muchness these days this side of the pond.
It was said a while back BMW separated the 1 Series into the 1 and 2 Series, and the 3 Series into the 3 and 4 Series because the 3 Series was getting so common, there was less Ford Mondeos on the road than there was of the 3 Series.
You could say that was great for BMW sales but they saw as what others were starting to, that the 3 Series had or was losing it’s premium lustre.
Personally, stick me in a BMW 2 Series Active Tourer or Grand Tourer or put me in a taxi to another dealership.
Petrol, manuals, 134bhp, 50mpg.

I had a feeling it was a “4" Series before I clicked on it. Glad I was right.
Did he lease it or buy it?

It’s not going to be a popular opinion, but I like that active tourer or whatever the hell it is, and is one of the few BMWs I would consider purchasing these days. I do think it needs sliding rear doors, however. This is coming from someone that has owned and modified multiple BMWs over the years.

Active Tourer at the top,
Grand Tourer underneath.
Maybe you want the Ford Grand C-Max (apparently different to the C-Max the U.S. gets.
With quirky centre seat, that disappears.

Oh, I like any sort of box on wheels. I fell in love with wagons and minivans back when I was a child, and, with the exception of perhaps a Miata, I don’t see myself buying anything else. I’m a little jealous of all of the nifty people movers you get in Europe, whereas in the US we keep getting larger and more feature-laden beasts. My Mazda5 is tiny by American standards, and probably why it wasn’t a big hit over here, but to me it’s just about the right size. OK, a little wider might be nice. Mind you, I’m rarely carrying more than two people in mine, so it isn’t exactly doing typical minivan duties, but it does just what I need it to do.

Ye’, here it’s about smaller more economical vehicles. If we need larger, we borrow one or rent one.
But MPVs are quite common for the growing family.
They needn’t be boring or boring to look at either.

That Grand C-Max was exactly what we were supposed to get; sliding rear doors, third row, with a regular gas motor. Then Ford changed the plan and we got the hybrid 5 seater thing with regular rear doors. Total bait and switch.

The Bangle ugly duckling phase seems to be ending, and BMW makes a decent looking car again!
